Getting past the ATS robots
Most Gulf employers screen with software before a human ever sees you. Learn how it reads.
How an ATS actually reads
It strips formatting, then matches your words against the job description. No synonyms, no inference — plain matching.
Which is why the exact phrase in the posting beats a clever paraphrase of it.
The keyword mirror
Take the top 12 nouns in the posting — tools, systems, methods. If you genuinely have them, use their exact spelling.
Example: posting says "Power BI", you wrote "PowerBI". The matcher may miss you. Match the space.
Formatting that breaks parsing
Tables, multi-column layouts, headers/footers, graphics, and text inside images all commonly break extraction.
Save as PDF only if the posting allows it; otherwise DOCX is the safer bet for older systems.
